NEST-egg for rescue service Students from Kaipara’s Westmount School in Maungaturoto have raised a staggering $28,060 for the Northland Emergency Services Trust (NEST), and were rewarded for their efforts with a helicopter ride.

Looking back, and forward, for Mangawhai As the general election approaches I have been reflecting on why I entered the political frame in the first place – it serves as a very good touchstone as to my motivations to serve my community and country. Below are excerpts from my maiden speech to Parliament in 2011:
Northland’s air ambulance clocks up distance So far this year, the Northland Emergency Services Trust’s (NEST) dedicated air ambulances have clocked up a total of 639 hours in the air, responding to emergency callouts and transporting patients to the region’s hospitals.
