Mangawhai’s riparian group held a working bee and planting day at the Mangawhai Domain recently. The area was first planted a year ago, with extra plants added over time to fill gaps.
 

Well, it’s official. Poultry giant Tegel has withdrawn its application to establish a broiler chicken operation in Dargaville. This can be viewed as both positive and negative in my opinion.

The direct road to one of Mangawhai’s stunning surf beaches will be temporally blocked and foot access rerouted as progress continues on a coastline development.

 

Registration for the 2018-19 season is underway as the Mangawhai Heads Volunteer Lifeguard Service lines up another summer of fun at the surf beach.
 

Having successfully run the former Harvest Blue Cafe and Restaurant, Mike Hynes and Vanessa Willems now run their own business. Vintage Market Deli is about scrumptious food well prepared and presented online and at a number of markets around the North, most recently at last weekend’s BOI Festival.
 

 

Despite the close proximity to the beach it is becoming more common for homeowners to build their own swimming pools in the region. It is timely then that pool technician Pete Jonas has recently moved to Mangawhai.
