'Vanessa' just part of the team
Mangawhai Opportunity Factory is thrilled to have its delivery van sign-written creating a distinctive mobile billboard, thanks to a great deal from Marty Searle.
Affectionately known as ‘Vanessa’, the Ford Transit van allows the Factory team to do pickups and deliveries.
Deliveries for large items purchased through the Factory cost $25 within a 25km radius with quotes for anything slightly further.
If you have an item to donate and it’s too large for you to deliver, give the Factory a call, and if they can use it they will arrange a time to pick it up.
Factory managers Leah and Lyndsey say they are very grateful for all donations, but emphasise that all goods must be of reasonable quality to on-sell.
“It can be a huge cost to the Factory to have non-saleable items removed or dumped and just reduces the funds given back,” says Lyndsey. “We are happy to say this is reducing all the time.”
The Opportunity Factory Trust is about to announce another round of funding in a few weeks. This follows on from their first 12 months of operating which saw just over $100,000 of grants allocated to 30 community groups.
Drop in to the Wood Street store, just beside the petrol station, to pick or donate, or call 431 3098 for information. Open 7 days but closed Easter Friday, Easter Monday and ANZAC day.
