While continuing to nurture printmaking traditions and explore contemporary approaches to this discipline, each printmaker will tell their story on a separate wall space within the Mangawhai Artists Gallery in Moir St, beginning October 22 at 6pm.
Interpretation will be personalised and individual. It will cover ‘Stories within Stories’.
Four artists are involved this year. Pictured from left, Barbara Ruhdorfer creates a story around her memories of printing classes at University. Wendy Clifford is showing monoprints to illustrate myths and legends from ancient Greek culture. Gayle Forster was inspired by the birds on the local shoreline. Nina Gastreich has created stories through a mixture of relief print and digital photographic print. The Mangawhai Printmakers look forward to sharing their stories in more detail over the fortnight they are exhibiting so please pop in and view their work at 45 Moir St, Mangawhai.
