Indian massage: What is it and how does it benefit us?
Indian head massage is based on an ancient healing system passed down from generation to generation within ancient India. It is a great massage that relieves tension in the upper back, neck and scalp.
Indian massage is mostly performed with you sitting in a chair while your therapist massages your upper back, arms, neck and scalp unknotting tight muscles. It is very rhythmical and not only works on releasing tension, but is also centred on rebalancing energy flow to provide a deep sense of peace, calm and tranquility.
Indian massage is also known to relieve headaches and migraines, reducing congestion and a number of sinus related problems. The massage will increase the blood flow to your head, neck and shoulders helping in the delivery of oxygen and nutrients and removal of wastes. The lymphatic flow is also increased reducing oedema and stimulates immunity. It helps to relieve mental fatigue and promotes clearer thinking.
If you suffer from tension in your upper body this is a great massage to try; the massage movements can be as deep or light as you want. I find it beneficial for the prevention of migraines and breaking down tight knots – one of my favourite treatments. I recommend either a 30 or 45 minute treatment, which you can book online.
