Cadets offer free community helpReasonable people don’t really expect something for nothing – just look at the number of local concerns run almost entirely by volunteers.
This is a time when hedges need tidying, gardens need preparation and planting, rubbish needs dumping, houses, paths and driveways could do with waterblasting, there are a number of chores that get done much quicker and easier with several sets of hands and able bodies. Under the guidance of unit commander Sandra Grayson the Mangawhai Cadets are offering needy locals up to three cadets and an adult helper for two hours at no cost to you on Sunday October 19 – maybe tea and bikkies in appreciation. Can there be a better deal? “We generally expect our local cadet troop to operate on a more military basis but with the onset of spring they are springing into action in the wider community offering a range of free services and man (and girl) power to any who need a hand with spring cleaning chores and the like,” says Sandra. “These young people are keen to interact with the community to highlight cadets as a body and also spread a bit of goodwill where it’s most needed.” if you have need of an extra hand or two, remember the date and contact Sandra Grayson on 431 4630. |
