Kiwi comics come to town

Saturday November 15 is comedy night at the Tavern.

Stand-up comedian and freelance writer, Michelle A’Court, was the winner of Female Comedian of the Decade at the 2010 NZ Comedy Guild Awards. Her in-ternational experience includes recent shows in Las Vegas, San Fran-cisco, Vancouver, Victo-ria and Toronto. She has created laughter around the world, on stage, tele-vision, radio, in newspa-pers and magazines and is in demand as a comic, and event MC.

As a guest on TV3's comedy show 7 Days she has a regular spot review-ing the world's weirdest news on TVNZ's Good Morning and on Radio NZ National's 9 to Noon with Kathryn Ryan and Te Radar. Michelle’s rep-ertoire covers all subjects and all genre’s

Michele's latest solo comedy show, Stuff I For-got To Tell My Daughter, was a sold-out hit at the 2013 NZ International Comedy Festival and the 2014 World Buskers Fes-tival and she continues to tour the show nationally and internationally.

Born in Canada but now residing in New Zealand, Jeremy Elwood has been performing for

more than 15 years. El-wood continues to ob-serve, question and dis-sect our society, and turn what he finds into comedy gold. He has headlined comedy clubs across New Zealand, Australia and further afield as well as appearing regularly on NZ television and radio.

Also a regular pan-elist on TV3's 7 Days, he is well known for serving up hilarious stand up infused with intelligence and thought having won the New Zealand Comedy Guild's Best Male Co-median and Best MC for several years thus prov-ing himself to be one of the most in-demand and consistent comedians in the country.

From his auspicious birth in Hamilton things would only get better for Matt Stellingwerf, eventually moving from just-outside-Paeroa to a-ways-from-Wanganui. It seemed from an early age that wherever Matt settled, laughter and in-creased instances of chlamydia were sure to follow!

Matt now brings a worldview inspired by alcoholic shearing gangs, bizarre Dutch relatives, and criminological theory to the stage and attempts to answer some

of life's enduring mys-teries. So come along this Saturday night, grab a brew or dinner, have a laugh and remember: lower expectations make

it better for everyone! „ See promo poster on this page for details.
