Pizza and beer McLeod's Pizza Barn at Waipu brew their own range of top notch beers designed perfectly to match their menu and gourmet pizzas. They have Longboarder Lager, Paradise Pale Ale and Great Migration Indian Pale Ale in 500ml bottles. Unlike most start-up breweries Mcleods aren't getting involved in an arms race to see who can pack the most hops into a beer or to see who can be the most 'out there'. Instead they are creating wonderfully balanced beers which can be both sessionable and perfect with a meal. Also available at Liquorland Kensington in Whangarei. Winter@Waipu Winter@waipu kicks off again on the June long weekend, as the small Northland village with a unique scottish story makes the most of winter season during June, July and August, starting with Tartan at the Races and finishing with a mid-winter swim.
