With the big crowds of summer now gone, Mangawhai’s Tony Baker (pictured far right in black) and the Surf Dojo team organised a big beach clean-up last weekend with great success.
Around 30 volunteers split into groups covering Mangawhai Heads Beach, Picnic Bay, and the car park.
“We picked up six full sacks of rubbish plus a TV aerial and truck battery,” says Tony. “A huge thanks to everyone who helped out.”
The cleanup was followed by an evening of art, food, music and a great surf film down at the Mangawhai Hall for those who wanted to attend. Thumbs ups to Craig Freeman and all the crew who made the event possible.
