Our squash club has restarted after a short break over the warmer months. If you're keen to give squash a try, simply turn up to the courts on our club nights, Mondays from 6pm (the door to the squash courts is opposite the tennis courts). People of all ages and abilities are welcome in our small, friendly club. Please wear non-marking soles.

Boys and girls hockey trials will be held on Thursday March 19 & 26, 3.30–5pm at the Otamatea High School astroturf. From the trials a collegiate boys and collegiate girls team will be selected. Netball – OHS
Thank you to everyone involved in the OHS netball trials – umpires, selectors and registration officials. The club is looking for two coaches for its junior netball teams (Year 7 & 8), and also for people to help out on the committee. If you'd like to foster young netball talent please contact Nikola Kemp on 021 137 9149.

Netball – Fast Five
I'm thinking of running a Fast Five netball tournament – in our gymnasium possibly on a Sunday afternoon, during the winter, for maybe 6 weeks. I'm wanting to gauge interest first to see if there will be enough people to make it viable. If you're interested, please contact me.

Gymnastics
Gymsport NZ run a Coach In Training course called Xtend which is open to all junior coaches. This year Holly Kenyon and Holly Anderson have signed up and enjoyed their first module last weekend. The module was a mix of training, teamwork and fun, and both Holly's came away from the weekend feeling more confident about their coaching and looking forward to the next module.

There will be a gymnastics meeting held in the gymnasium foyer or all parents, coaches and interested parties this Tuesday March 24 at 7.15pm.

Classic Car Day
If you are a fan of classic cars – hot rods, muscle cars, street rods and speciality cars – come along to the Sports Complex this Saturday March 28. There will be a classic cars competion to tie in with Kaiwaka School gala day. For enquiries on the Classic Car Day, please contact Clare Borck on 027 522 8477.

Kaiwaka Sports Awards
For our annual Sports Awards, our affiliated clubs nominate their members in the categories of Senior Sportsperson of the Year, Junior Sportsperson of the Year, Service to Sport and the Greg McRae Memorial Trophy. Did you know that Kaiwaka is the smallest town in New Zealand to hold its own Sports Awards! The awards dinner will be held on Thursday April 16 with emcee Markby from More FM. Tickets are on sale at Jaques Four Square.

Emergency accessway
Please note that the gate in our carpark which leads onto the field (next to the swimming pool) is our emergency accessway for ambulances. It is painted yellow on the ground and has a ‘Keep Clear’ sign on it. Please do not park in front of the gate.
