TimberWorld celebrates decade of support for fishing compMangawhai Boating and Fishing Club are busy organising their big Easter Fishing Competition to be held on Saturday April 19.
This year will celebrate the 10th anniversary of TimberWorld’s sponsorship of the event, and organizers say it’s going to be bigger and better than ever. Fishing starts at 6pm and the weigh in is from 4pm–5pm at the Alamar Crescent clubrooms in Mangawhai Heads. Boats must leave from the harbour on the morning of the competition and all fishing club and NZ Sports Fishing Council rules must be adhered to. There’ll be heaps of prizes for all the major species, a ladies section and some very good spot prizes too. A mammoth fish auction will also be held after the weigh in, with all proceeds going towards the club’s boat ramp extension project. “TimberWorld’s very generous sponsorship allows us to have a competition up there with any other club in New Zealand,” says club captain Rob Cameron. “It’s always a very popular and well supported competition.” Entries close at 10am on the morning of the competition. Get your tickets from Darryl at Mangawhai Fishing & Tackle at the Wood Street shops. Entry is $20 for seniors and $5 for juniors (up to age 13). The clubrooms will be open with cold drinks and hot food available. Any enquires please contact Rob 021 250 5034 or Buck 0274 874 128. |
