Maestro and Mangawhai a great musical mixThe ever-popular, multi-faceted musician Paul Ubana Jones returns this weekend to Sail Rock Café. Following on from his last visit when he paid homage to Bob Dylan, this tour is entitled ‘Nothing but the Groove’, giving his audience a taste of his wide musical ability through his soulful voice, guitar agility and enthusiasm, all of which make for a most inspiring and entertaining evening. Trying to describe just how good Paul Ubana Jones is, is like trying to define why the Mona Lisa is the most famous painting in the world. A graduate of a London music college where he studied guitar, cello and composition, Paul and his family moved to New Zealand in the late 80’s. Christchurch is still their permanent home. Paul has continued to perform regularly throughout New Zealand, Australia and Europe to growing acclaim. Concert performances include sharing the bill with Bob Dylan, B.B King, Norah Jones, Patti Smith and many more. |
