Fishpie for hospice fundraiserThe Kaiwaka -Mangawhai Hospice Support Group have again organised the long awaited annual Hospice fundraising luncheon held recently at The Club, Mangawhai.
Fundraising events over the past few weeks around Mangawhai, Kaiwaka, Maungataroto, Waipu and Ruakaka has seen North Haven Hospice benefit to the tune of $2,500. North Haven Hospice officials are extremely grateful for the tremendous support offered by local communities. A great team of volunteers, givers and helpers worked tirelessly to organise the event under the energetic guidance of Glenis and Ken Mackintosh. The support team sold tickets, prepared stunning hampers for raffles, baked and assisted with a myriad of other tasks. Two very talented local young artists, Kate Cotching and Emma Rankin and the duo of Len Bird and Jill Hill entertained the 150 strong crowd throughout the special luncheon while guests enjoyed fresh fish pie, salads and home grown desserts.
