Science fund for Mangawhai Beach School

Pupils at Mangawhai Beach School will be able to delve even deeper into the world of science and nature this year thanks to a $1000 grant from the Bayer Primary School Science Fund towards their aquarium project.

The money will be used for aquarium equipment and a digital microscope.

NRC says make most of forestry planting grants

Northland farmers and landowners are being encouraged to take full advantage of a Government forestry grant scheme, with the North-land Regional Council advising it also has options to help.

The Government recently relaunched its Afforestation Grant Scheme (AGS), announcing it would spend $22.5 million over the next six years subsidising the planting of forests on erosionprone land.

House construction and commercial growth continues strongly in the Kaipara District. Man-gawhai accounts for much of this growth. For the first three calendar months of each of the past three years, building consents have been consistently high.
