Boar hunt to be real man versus wildBoar hunt to be real man versus wild
The Kaiwaka boar hunt is on again and scheduled for the weekend of August 10-11, organised by Vic Birkenhead on behalf of the Point Curtis Cruising Club. This year it’s serious fun and generous sponsorship has allowed the club to put up over $5,000 worth of prizes. It doesn’t matter where you run down your pigs, just get them back to the Three Furlongs Hotel by weigh-in. It’s not just a hard core weekend for the guys either. The whole family can be involved, with competition for heaviest snapper, eel and possum. So, Mum and the kids need to thaw out their bait and sort out their traps as there is good money to be won. Pigs, snapper and eels will be auctioned after judging, the hotel will have plenty of food and beverage on offer, and there’s music and entertainment from 6pm till late. Mark it on your calander now! ■ For all enquiries phone Vic Birkenhead on 021 160 9588. |
