Hundreds follow Easter Art TrailJulia Wade
The art display showcases the quality, diversity and unique talent members have on offer using a range of media including wood sculptures, materials, printing, with fine-tuned paintings resembling photographs and surreal photography imitating art. MAI spokesperson Lynn Middleton says visitors welcomed the chance to drive to artist studios in the outlying areas, enjoying Mangawhai's scenic landscape as well as being able to talk with artists in their studios. “People also enjoyed the cluster of venues around the pioneer heritage site which proved very popular with over 700 visitors and an easy stroll across the road to the Stylish Home venue which saw 300,” she says. “It was a fantastic art trail – excellent weather, excellent art, excellent numbers of visitors and excellent sales. Planning is already underway for Easter Art Trail 2020!” - PHOTOS & CAPTIONS/JULIA WADE |
