Members of the Tamatea Community Trust Mangawhai were overwhelmed by the show of community support at their latest meeting on February 17.
The Trust was enlightened by the number and range of agencies and organisations who attended, outlining the services they provide within the area, and excited by those that have shown an interest in working with them to reach mutual goals of providing a stronger conduit of social services.
The Tamatea Community Trust Mangawhai was established in August 2015, becoming a registered charitable trust in January of this year.
The purpose of the meeting was to establish networks and grow relationships.
“We urge any organisations or individuals to contact us if they would like further information, or to meet with us to discuss possible collaboration,” says Trust secretary Sue Poynter. “We are actively seeking sponsorship and would welcome any donations to assist us to fulfil our commitment.”
The most immediate and pressing goal is to secure premises and funding so the Trust can establish a sustainable base from which to work and serve the community.
The Trust has definite visions and goals and any person, business or organisation who believes they can add to these services is urged to get in contact to dicuss the services they provide and how best to serve the community for mutual benefit.
