Tara Iti Golf Club has announced their first Spirit of Mangawhai Charity Golf Tournament.
All proceeds from the October 6 event will benefit a number of admirable local charities and organisations.
Some of those approached to participate include Mangawhai Museum, Mangawhai Volunteer Fire Brigade, Mangawhai Activity Zone, Mangawhai Heads Volunteer Lifeguard Service, Mangawhai Beach School, Mangawhai Tracks Charitable Trust, St John Ambulance, Westpac Rescue Helicopter, Mangawhai Golf Club and Kaiwaka Sports Association.
The event will be limited to 10-12 four-person teams. The price per team is $5,000 or alternatively $1250 per individual. Entry fees include green fees, caddie fees and gratuities, prizes, food and beverages and all proceeds go back to the nominated local charities.
A unique fundraising event, organisers hope to provide participants with a great day out, as well as giving back to the community and raising approximately $50,000.
Tara Iti Golf Club would like to welcome anyone who is interested in participating or wishing to contribute in some way to approach the Club directly. Alternatively you may approach one of the above charities and/or organisations directly to enquire about signing up for their team.
“We wanted to host an event that would attract golfers from the area to support the tremendous work of our local community organisations,” says Tara Iti general manager Matt Guzik
“As you can imagine the atmosphere at this tournament will be one of community spirit and camaraderie. It will be a great way to network within the community whilst giving back – and of course being able to experience the wonderful golf and hospitality on offer at Tara Iti.”
