Whai Awa development incorporates robust design and social benefitsAs another busy Labour Weekend came and went in Mangawhai, an exciting and unique property development was being launched.
Situated at the end of Pearson Street within Mangawhai Village, Whai Awa is a unique development in a very special location. From a design perspective Whai Awa has integrated important principles of both sustainability and urban design. Developer Jackson Worsfold has a strong background in pursuing opportunities combining sustainable land use and design with development opportunities and is very pleased with the outcomes at Whai Awa. “Stage One physical works are now complete and we are very pleased to release a development that embraces the values and characteristics of the Mangawhai Village,” he said. “From a design perspective, Whai Awa has been brought to life by a robust design and construction process utilising local consultants and contractors such as Dream Planning, Rural Design, Constructive Management and Shane Cullen Contractors. “Our aim has always been to create a modern development providing for good urban design and environmental outcomes. The development provides for aesthetic appeal through the quality streetscape landscape design while the use of sustainable stormwater options in the form of rain gardens, ensures that the health of the harbour is maintained by treating and managing run-off. “There are also some significant social benefits of the development including the creation of an Estuary Esplanade Reserve which will provide home owners and the community with better access to the harbour and enhance connectivity in the village.” For more information about this exciting new development head to whaiawa.co.nz |
