Art ‘n Tartan tickets
Tickets for this year’s Waipu Museum Art ’n Tartan Wearable Art contest and show are now on sale from eventfinda.co.nz. Tickets will also be available at the Waipu Museum, Monday to Friday from 10am to 4pm.

Streamlining of the show into one ‘open’ category, as well as the popular mask section for kids, has resulted in a record number of entries from as far afield as Auckland, Kerikeri and Tauranga.

To replace category prizes presented in previous years there will be host of special prizes, including the coveted Alison Turner Memorial prize awarded to the supreme winner, a sewing machine for the best sewn entry by a student under 18, an award for the best use of recycled materials, and an award for the wildest, weirdest and most wonderful garment.

The 10th anniversary show will be held in the Celtic Barn, Waipu on October 15-16 with a matinee on the 16th.

New chairperson sought
Geoff Copstick has resigned his role as the Chairperson of Kaipara District Councils’ Audit, Risk and Finance Committee. Mr Copstick’s resignation was effective from Friday August 13. As Deputy Chairperson of the committee, Councillor Wethey will assume the Chair’s responsibilities while the Council recruits for a replacement Chairperson.
