Following the success of last years community art project, Mangawhai residents and visitors are once again invited to come together and merge their imaginations for another united artwork. 

 

Councils everywhere are currently working on future developments for their respective areas and, of course, Kaipara is no different. How do you see a long term plan? A necessary evil or do you just leave it to our governing who have all the facts and figures needed to plan our future?

Local writer Bevan Lawrence is about to release a new book, The Nephilim Strain on Kindle, about an obsessive scientist bent on holding back age. 
 

 

It is very easy to overplant. I do it all the time. There is good reason for the way landscape architects lay out their plans and it is possible to do a simple version when planning a garden yourself.

Scores of the musically-inclined, and lovers of song and strum, have tuned into a new local monthly event, celebrating an age old instrument and turning Monday evenings into a night of fun and harmony.  

 

Agridustrial means just what it says. It’s a broad spectrum of services that relates to both industrial and agricultural industries, and given the variation of both within the local area Agridustrial are performing an essential service. 
 

 

‘It's not fair’ is a complaint that is usually justified. It is a cry that spans the generations. It provides additional proof of man’s fall from the heavenly estate where righteousness and justice reign. It begs the question: How is it that from the earliest age there exists within the human soul a sense of fairness? Is this part of the divine nature inherent in our flawed humanity?

 

 

Doubts about vaccinations
As a member of Otamatea Grey Power I wish to clarify our group's views on vaccinations.
We are not against single vaccinations administered for a specific illness but strongly oppose the current practice of immunising babies with multiple vaccines at 6 weeks, 3 months, 5 months, 15 months and 3 years, with each injection covering multiple diseases.

 

With increasing worldwide reporting on the devastating effects plastic waste has on oceans and marine animals, a group of local schoolchildren decided to find out what it was like for themselves, and took a dip in a pool of plastic. 

 

With the annual appeal of one of New Zealand’s most trusted charities coming to an end, Mangawhai’s local youth did their bit to help raise funds with the iconic sausage sizzle. 
April is officially St John’s national appeal month with local divisions across the country fundraising for the organisation.

 

 

Following the recent collapse of a local building company, clients and contractors have been left to deal with the aftermath, their parallel stories in relation to the owners revealing a recurring and distressing theme. 

 

A junior member of the Mangawhai Golf Club and, for some years, a major emerging talent on the New Zealand golf scene, Belinda May has just put her name to a golf and academic scholarship agreement with Troy University of Alabama, USA.

 

Pumping swell conditions greeted lifeguards from around the North Island for the 26th Annual Lifeguard Longboard Nationals. 
The annual event, hosted by the Mangawhai Heads Volunteer Lifeguard Service (MHVLS), enjoyed conditions for the 2018 competition that many were calling the best ever.
