Safety first a winner for Riverside Park
Mangawhai has made another good score recently in the interests of health and safety.
Otamatea St John recently held a major fundraiser to purchase several defibrillator units and has presented one to the Riverside Holiday Park in Mangawhai. Maungaturoto/Kaiwaka St John Station Manager Stephen Rosser is also on the board of directors of Riverside Holiday Park. “It’s not a matter of ‘them and us’, it’s simply a matter of having an important apparatus available in the event of an emergency and, with four or five units dotted around Mangawhai, Riverside Holiday Park was seen as a good location for a unit which is available 24/7.” Riverside Holiday Park had also been raising funds for an automated external defibrillator (AED) so the generosity of St John means the purchase of this additional equipment can now go ahead. Thanks to modern technology there is also an App that gives the location of defib units to your cellphone. This latest unit is located at the office of Riverside Holiday Park on Black Swamp Rd and anyone with any queries should contact Linda or Barry at the park on 431 4825 or if it is required after hours just use the pager at the office door. Given the growth of Mangawhai, especially over the holiday period, there is simply no telling when the apparatus may be needed so the whole community stands to benefit. |
