Mangawhai Business AssociationWelcome to a regular column by the Mangawhai Business Association (MBA) to keep you up to date with things-business.
AGM – at the recent AGM new committee and office holders were elected. Joining existing members Alison Dunlop, Richard Gunson and Stephen McKay are Alan Corkin, Corinne Smith, Emma Mallock, Jane Parker and Mike Howard. Strategic Plan - the new committee has engaged Mac Donald Consulting Services Ltd to lead a review of the current strategic plan. The MBA’s Vision is for Mangawhai to be the leading business community in Northland. The goal is clear, you can help and you can benefit from becoming an active member of the Association. What’s In It For You - the MBA provides Members with connections and opportunities to help build skills, extend their range of contacts and draw on each other for ideas and inspiration. The MBA is already the one clear voice for the business community working constructively with Council for example, on the Wood Street revitalization project. Success and Growth – we all see these two gems a little differently but how ever you define them joining the MBA can help you move toward your Goals. An opportunity to share with others, new ways of looking at things and plugging in to an enthusiastic group who all love their businesses. Jobs, Jobs, Jobs – the MBA is a great place for you to advertise for work or to find people to work with you. The new MBA Jobs-Board will be a free service to help people with skills contact people who need them. Give Alan a call on 021 906 901 if you’d like to know more. Kaipara Kai Hub – we met Lana and Matt from The Kaipara Kai Hub (KKH) recently. The KKH is a onestop support base for landowners, an initiative set up by Northland Inc to provide on the ground support to anyone in the district looking to use their land to its best potential. If you would like to increase food production, investigate new crop suitability or seek new market opportunities contact Kaipara Kai at hello@kaiparakaihub.nz. Sustainable Kaipara - Closing the Loop is a programme run by Sustainable Kaipara to slash the amount of waste going to land fill. Closing the Loop is free to businesses and community groups. You’ll find them at sustainablekaipara.org. Like To Join Us? Contact Alison on 021 809239 or alisondunlop.ns@gmail.com. |
