Local parents, teachers and guests had a rocking good time recently, wining, dining and dancing away to one of New Zealand’s hottest covers bands, White Chapel Jak, renowned for their electrifying and engaging performances.
Winners of the Radio NZ Battle of the Covers Band Competition 2018, the quartet’s dazzling energy, musical talent and diverse song range brought most of the 200 strong crowd onto the dance floor of the Mangawhai Beach School hall, and saw principal Aaron Kemp and deputy Emma Grieve break out their best dance moves. Dinner was catered by local A-to-Z Catering, and the event raised thousands of dollars for the school, although the intention of the night, Kemp says, was more to offer parents and guests just a good night out.
