The Cow Shed Cafe pops backAmy and Sam are back from across the ditch to run The Cow Shed’s Pop-up Cafe again this summer. It’s all very much a family affair. Amy is the daughter of Robert and Wendy Klink, owners of The Cow Shed Restaurant and Farm Shop, and alongside her chef husband, Sam, they are back to add a cafe menu to The Cow Shed’s restaurant space. “After a hugely successful summer last year we are excited to come back and do it again,” said Sam. Sam has been working on the new menu since the day they shut up shop last summer, adding new items and modifying some of the old favourites as the cafe brings some Melbourne flare to Mangawhai. You may know of The Cow Shed for its renowned evening meals. A BYO three-course set menu comprising of large portions of meat expertly cooked on Robert’s outdoor barbecue with delicious accompaniments cooked by Wendy. Produce is sourced locally and from the garden or orchard, a philosophy also important to Amy and Sam. Good food, expertly cooked and served in a uniquely relaxed atmosphere is what you can expect at The Cow Shed. The Cow Shed Cafe is open from 9am-3pm for breakfast and lunch from the December 27 until January 30 while the restaurant is open from 6pm all year round, bookings essential. The Cow Shed uses fresh locally-sourced vegetables. |
