Numbers up for Heads to HubMangawhai came alive with the beat of soles pounding the pavement on April 3 as runners, walkers and pram pushers took on the challenge of the Heads to Hub fun run.
Participants could choose from either the 5.5km or the 8.5km distance and sprint, jog or walk the course. The event attracted over 600 participants, with some travelling from as far away as Dunedin and Queenstown. Northland Sports Business Development Manager, Colleen Atchison, said it was a good turnout with numbers up from last year. “It was wonderful to see a large number of children compete on the day, many running or walking with parents and grandparents,” Atchison says. “It is great to be active from an early age so physical activity becomes a part of everyday life as we get older.” <<Photos to come 1 5.5kms and still smiling.
