Entry deadline extension for Art ‘n Tartan

Organisers of the popular annual Art ‘n Tartan Wearable Arts Awards have extended their entry deadline for April 29 to May 8.

Preliminary judging is still set down for June 19.

Thanks to generous supporters and sponsors there is a very generous $16,000 prize pool.

The Waipu Art ‘n Tartan Wearable Arts Awards offer artists and designers the opportunity to win one of twelve $1000 category prizes, the Supreme Award of $3000, a Janome sewing machine, or a BOC portable welder.

While entries and payment must be received by May 8, contestants have until June 19 to finish creations for preliminary judging where it will be professionally photographed.

Judges will also have their first opportunity to view entries prior to the stage show.

Designers can submit solo projects or choose to collaborate with family or friends.

Each entry requires a tartan element, but it doesn’t have to be fabric, it can be created in any way – welded, woven or painted. n Entry forms and information are available from the Events page at waipumuseum.com or phone the museum on 432 0746.
