New therapist for KakarikiIvana Reddington is a massage therapist new to Mangawhai and operating from the Kakariki Health Shop in the Bennetts complex. Her focus is on therapeutic massage for any musculoskeletal issues.
She has a Diploma in Therapeutic Massage and trained at The New Zealand School of Massage in Auckland in 2017 but has been practising relaxation massage for over 10 years. Ivana uses a mixture of neuromuscular techniques, myofascial release, pregnancy massage and also scar release. All treatments are holistic, taking into account each individual and their history, and all massages are relaxing in nature for both the mind and body. Myofascial release is a very effective technique to improve tensegrity and balance in the body. Tensegrity is a ‘tensional integrity’ which is what makes 3-D structures stable with a perfect balance of continuous tension. This is how the fascial system works within the body. Scars can also have a huge effect on the fascial system and body, which can create disruptions over time. Releasing these tissues can help create more freedom of movement and aid in maintaining great posture. The technique for this is called the STRAIT method: Scar Tissue Release And Intergrated Therapies which is becoming a popular choice internationally. Scars are often over-looked and this method is a safe way to work with people to improve quality of life. Ivana is at Kakariki on Wednesdays and Saturdays and loves to educate people on what is going on for them in their anatomy or physiology and help with rehabilitating back to balance. She loves to answer questions and work alongside other health professionals as well. For more details or to make a booking see advertisement this page |
