Carnival kicks off big Easter weekend in WaipuEaster comes early this year, with the Waipu Easter Carnival kicking off town festivities on Easter Saturday, March 31, 9am-2pm. This year’s Waipu Easter Carnival promises to be another spectacular day out for young and old. Organisers say mammoth preparations have been underway for some time to ensure that the event delivers something special for everyone. The carnival is run by the Waipu Primary School PTA and raises essential funds for several school projects. Now in its ninth year it has truly become a community affair, with many local businesses getting involved and market stalls filling the main street of Waipu leading you to the carnival fun inside Caledonian Park. Once again there will be a huge range of rides and games, including exciting new attractions such as an interactive art zone. The rural location of the town is reflected in the country feel of the day; welcoming smiles, delicious homemade food and animals galore. Plenty of designated parking also makes getting there hassle free. The good times don’t end there. Waipu is really turning it on this year. You’ll be spoilt for choice with a fundraising Rock’n Roll night at the Waipu RSA and live entertainment at the Waipu Hotel on the Saturday evening. The Waipu Car & Bike Show returns to the Caledonian Park on Sunday at 10am and for a musical treat Classics at the Cove starts Sunday 2.30pm. More information about these events can be found on eventfinda.co.nz and waipucarnival.com. |
