Reminder of funding Mangawhai youthWith less than two weeks to go before funding applications close on the first funding round from Mangawhai Community Opportunity Shop Trust (MCOST), trustees would like to remind the community of the additional funding initiative available, aimed at helping local youth.
Along with the Mangawhai Community Enhancement Fund, intended to finance local projects of benefit to the area, MCOST will also dedicate 15 per cent of available funding to the Mangawhai Youth Development initiative. MCOST trustee Ken Rayward says the trustees are expecting a broad variety of requests for youth from churches, schools and cultural and sports clubs. “Ranging from a budding violinist requiring specialised training, special needs teaching support, rugby sports academy participation, travel costs to events, team uniforms and equipment to hospitality training and more!” he says. “Those selected will have achieved recognition in their fields of endeavour and appreciate this is a special helping-up hand not a hand out, and use it to take themselves to the next level of performance or service back to our community.” Enquiries and grant application form requests can be directed to Trust chairman Roger Hill, email rghill@xtra.co.nz. The Factory Opportunity Shop is also calling out to Mangawhai residents and bach owners for product donations to help grow greater funding opportunities. Pick-up of larger products is available by calling The Factory to arrange a suitable time on (09) 431 3098. -- REPORTING/Julia Wade |
