Business expanding at the HeadsSince bringing a new IT service to Mangawhai in 2012, business has grown and now taken on a new persona, and owner, for Computers Plus.
Computers Plus still occupies half of the shop behind the Wood St shops but is now running a new business called Printing Plus, specialising in the printing of all documents – copying, brochures, booklets, desk-top publishing, outdoor banners and laminating over a metre in width. Bows & Bells, Walking Weekend and Heads FM Radio signs around town have all been produced by him. In moving sideways and separating the business, Richard says he has been a part of the computer scene for a long time and the growth of the business meant a decision had to be made in the interests of better service to the public and a growing community. Computers Plus is now owner-operated by David Hopkins and will shortly open at 3 Ellen St, just around the corner from the Freehouse. David has been a local since 2014 moving to the area after ten years working in Singapore for IBM. Having been involved with computers since the 70’s he has grown with technology and says keeping abreast of changes through several decades will stand him in good stead as we rely more and more on electronics in our daily lives for both personal and business dealings. David says the new fibre cable to Mangawhai will draw more tech companies here and bring a better service to a growing area. The existing repair service will continue as well as home visits, web hosting, website construction and an increasing retail section. As there is no specialist IT service between Whangarei and Warkworth Computers Plus are sure to be in demand. |
