Award-winning musician to perform in Kaiwaka

 

Award-winning guitarist and composer Dave Flynn brings audiences on a fantastical musical voyage across the globe. 
Performing at the Absurdistan Hall, Kaiwaka, Flynn will take the audience ‘Around the world in 80 minutes’.

Well known in Irish music circles for his work with Martin Hayes, Mairtin O’Connor and the Irish Memory Orchestra, Flynn has toured solo around Japan, New Zealand and Europe.

His cosmopolitan spirit and masterful guitar skills combine for an intoxicating musical cocktail. Brazilian Bossa Nova and Spanish Flamenco dance alongside inventive imitations of Indian Sitar, African Kora and Japanese Koto music.

Included will be selections from his acclaimed albums Draiocht and Contemporary Traditional Irish Guitar. New music composed especially for this show rounds off this adventurous journey around the world of guitar music.
