Mangawhai Probus Club

Te Hana Marae hosts mid-winter Christmas
Probus members celebrated a Mid Winter Christmas party at Te Hana Marae, along with Christmas decorations, a full roast dinner and ten spot prizes – bought, wrapped and distributed by Jim Wintle. Christmas tunes were played by Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis Jnr – The Rat Pack.

New members Bill and Christine Bygrave were welcomed to the club and members and visitors joined in the good humour and celebrations.

The Te Hana Marae staff looked after our group very well and we recommend people from Mangawhai and surrounding areas take the short trip to Te Hana and visit. A fabulous facility with lots to see and do.

Thomas outlined the idea behind setting up this tourist attraction. Back in the days when industry left town and people were disenchanted with no employment, trouble soon came to the area. It was as a result of a dream that Thomas had, and the hard work of others that joined in, that so much has been achieved. A very inspirational venture and we wish them every success.
