Kaiwaka clinic to keep you moving

massage jodie kaiwakaIt’s a long way between Queenstown and Kaiwaka but massage therapist Jodie Hillock has made the transition over several years and, in the end, to the benefit of Kaiwaka.

Growing up in Queenstown, Jodie’s is a name well-known in theatre and screen within the New Zealand scene to the extent that in 2007 she won the Wellington Chapman Tripp Theatre Award for Best Female Newcomer for her performance in Homeland, written by acclaimed New Zealand playwright Gary Henderson.

A four-year stay in Wellington saw her attending drama school but, given the tenuous nature of an acting career in New Zealand, she qualified as a massage therapist through the New Zealand College of Massage which then allowed her to fill in the downtime.

Continuing her gradual move northwards Jodie opened a very successful South Auckland clinic in association with a local physiotherapist.

With a partner who is a builder with a penchant for surfing, the Kaiwaka and Mangawhai area has provided an ideal mix for the couple and Jodie has now set up her clinic in Kaiwaka which she opened a month ago but is still running ‘opening special rates.’

“I like being handy enough to Auckland for acting work and we both love Northland,” she says.

Having experienced chronic muscular pain in the past and finding huge benefit from massage herself, Jodie has particular interest in dealing with pain management and prides herself on listening and catering the massage to her client needs.

She also understands the luxury of a relaxation massage and the need for a sports massage, so her services can benefit stressed Mums, those in recovery mode or the simple strains of older age.

Busy schedule and can’t make it to her clinic? Well, by arrangement, Jodie’s mobile service will come to you and does visits in and around Kaiwaka-Mangawhai-Maungaturoto or Langs Beach-Waipu so put a group together on your tennis mornings and turn your activity into a refreshing recovery.

For the chance to win a free massage find her Facebook page ‘Treat Massage Kaiwaka & Mangawhai’.

Professional, qualified and affordable. Refer to her advert this page.
