Dorothy Freeman who has coordinated the local Daffodil Day fundraiser for the last 11 years has decided that it is time for someone new, with new ideas, to take over.
Over the last decade her dedicated team has raised thousands of dollars for the Northland Cancer Society, helping cancer patients across Northland particularly those who use the great facilities offered at Domain Lodge.
Originally held at Dorothy and Paul’s home, the event has become such a success that a larger venue had to be found.
The Mangawhai Golf Club have generously donated their premises and allowed the morning tea to continue and grow.
This year’s event will again be held at the Mangawhai Golf Club who, in addition to supplying the venue have generously supplied vouchers for the annual raffle.
With other vouchers donated by sponsors, the raffle will have $1000 worth of prizes.
Tickets will be available at the Club on Friday August 14 and 21, and at the Mangawhai Markets August 15 and 22.
Past and present supporters of the Daffodil Day cause are welcome to come and celebrate Dorothy's swansong.
Call 431 5950 before Friday August 21 with numbers to help with catering.
