After servicing the local community for the past six years, Clair McEntegart and her team of experienced physios have opened a new, larger clinic at 5 Insley Street, Mangawhai Village, between the 4 Square and pottery.

“The opportunity has come up to expand to the larger premises and we just had to take the chance,” says Clair. “While the Wood Street clinic is great for hands-on therapy, the Village clinic means we are able to offer our clients more. We are really excited about what we are now able to offer our clients, and being able to follow them through their rehabilitation journey.”

The new centre will include a small rehabilitation studio gym, Pilates classes aimed at the clinical population such as people in pain and post-surgery, and to start with will be running lower limb strengthening exercise classes where people can exercise and strengthen their legs for pre-op preparation and post-op recovery.

The centre will also have an SOS counsellor offering support mechanisms to women and children.

The extra space will also allow for a larger team which includes podiatrist Ray Cameron, counsellor and psychotherapist Susan Matheson, Charlotte Scott from Bliss beauty therapy, nutritionist Tara Chaproniere and ‘wellness practitioner’ Di Glucina.

“Our goal is to make the Village a Wellness Centre for Mangawhai,” Clair explains. “Over the past few years we have noticed a definite shift in the demographic of Mangawhai and we want to be able to offer as many services as possible using local practitioners. Mangawhai is still a great population to treat, with most people being fit and active and keen to improve and get back to their exercise of choice.”

The Village clinic opened its doors on March 27 and the public are invited to drop in and have a look. The group will continue to offer physiotherapy as well as massage and acupuncture, and are ACC registered so there is no necessity to see your GP first. Practitioners can register claims and treat on existing claims. They are also able to refer for x-rays and ultrasound scans onto specialists if required.

The Heads clinic will remain open and will have a physio in attendance 5 days a week.
